This Jitney Station is almost up and running!

Its almost that time folks!! The JITNEY station is almost up and running and I am super duper excited! This is my first blog with True Colors and I am honored to be the one who will bring you the behind the scenes scoop and may sell you a drink or two at the concession stand.

I must say that this cast is Amazing! I am not just speaking about what they will bring to the stage, but, these are a great bunch of guys to hang around. I find myself hanging out more backstage than in the theatre during this rehearsal process. Every time I set foot in the theatre it feels like a big family reunion. I am greeted with a big bear hug by that uncle that acts as if I hadn't seen him in years (LaParee Young), a warm smile and hello from the wise uncle (Anthony Chisolm) and a pimp hand shake from that cousin you pray show up to the reunion because you are sure to laugh all day (Geoffrey D. Williams). I need not forget to mention the only female in this production Tracy Bonner. Keep up with my weekly blogs and you will learn more about her and her thoughts on being the only female in the cast.

The leader of this Jitney Crew goes by the name of Derrick Sanders. A young and passionate director who is very detailed about things other directors may not notice, such as the exact precision on getting the phone rings down to a science. We are in tech week but I like to call it "A Race against Time". Thats were every thing from last minute decisions on costumes to getting the lighting and sound right can make this process stressful and crazy. But this is what makes the theatre great, this is what every true, passionate artist live for. To be pushed. Pushing time limits before opening night, every part of the crew must work tiresly to create a master piece. I guarantee you that it will be.
