current season
We could not be more excited to announce True Colors Theatre Company's 6th season and we want you to travel with us.
This season will begin with the classic comedy The Sty of the Blind Pig directed by Andrea Frye. We will present Kenny Leon's multi-cultural interpretation of Pulitzer Prize winner Our Town and close our season with August Wilson's Jitney directed by Derrick Sanders, Artistic Director at Chicago's Congo Square Theatre. We'll tell these stories in a way that only True Colors can and leave you thinking you gotta come back.
In addition to our three-play season, we will bring back Langston Hughes' holiday classic Black Nativity featuring a multi-cultural cast.
This season we'll also expand our August Wilson Monologue Competition for high school students. High school sophomore, juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to compete in a regional qualifying round and the finalists will compete in April at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway. This program is close to our hearts and we are so proud that it has expanded to three major cities in just three short years. Join us for this amazing competition and you'll be able to say, "I saw them when".
Here at True Colors we have a passion to remember and a commitment to build the future through theatre. We believe that we have accomplished this with these unique stories and we cantt wait for you to discover them.
With all this excitement in one season...
you gotta come back.
