North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and Triad Stage are proud to partner to host North Carolina’s August Wilson Monologue Competition. Open to high school students, the program introduces the work of August Wilson to the next generation of artists, audiences, and leaders. Students will choose one monologue from August Wilson’s Century Cycle between 1-3 minutes in length. Students will have the opportunity to hone their monologues in workshops housed in several schools in the Triad region, and will receive coaching from teaching artists as they progress through the competition.
A panel of judges will choose two regional finalists to win and all-expense paid trip to New York City for the national finals weekend. The regional first, second, and third place winners will receive a $500, $250 and $100 scholarship respectively.
