The Bill Nunn Theatre Outreach Project (BNTOP) presents the annual Pittsburgh August Wilson Monologue Competition. In its seventh year, Pittsburgh’s AWMC will collaborate with four public high schools within the region. Students participate in a 12-week residency, which includes: six in-school workshops facilitated by Actor Bill Nunn; and six after-school (Saturday) workshops facilitated by AWMC Alumni Coaches (who are now attending college.) The workshops are designed to introduce August Wilson and his plays – and help students to analyze and develop their monologue presentations. The Saturday workshops are open to any other area student not affiliated with the four participating schools.
