“This program mirrors the world that we live in, or at least the one in which we hope to live. I am excited that we have come out of our ‘figurative huts’ to change the narrative of what collaboration looks like in the Atlanta artistic community.”

Nikki Toombs, Director of Education for Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company

“My hope is that Four Directions can become a shining example of what apprenticeships could be, not just in Atlanta, but across the country and the world. Without a doubt, the apprentices who complete this program will be formidable when they enter the vast professional artistic landscape.”

Paul Conroy, Out Front Theatre Company’s Founder and Producing Artistic Director

Darrell Grant

“A friend sent me the program description for the Four Directions Apprentice Company.  At first glance I knew it was something I absolutely had to do. To be immersed in every aspect of theatre, while learning from some of the best professionals, at four of the most reputable theatres in Georgia ….yes please. This apprenticeship seems to be the perfect marriage of performance, administration, and education.  I’m so honored to be a member of the inaugural class in such a legendary company.”

Tyra Watkins

“Four Directions Apprentice Company was recommended to me by a friend. As I did more research into the four companies involved in the program, I realized that all of these companies represented a part of my identity. They reflected my own morals in conjunction with being a renowned Atlanta theatre. I have been exposed to multiple facets of the theatre world and have been nurtured not only by my environment but also by my colleagues. I have grown as an artist, a person and I am excited to continue my journey with the company!”

Robby Myles

“I’m ecstatic to be a part of the Four Directions Apprentice Company. The opportunity to work with such diverse theatres in all aspects on and off stage gives me a great leap into the theatre scene in Atlanta. Not only do I get to work with these great theatres, I have the honor to work with three other rock star apprentices, creating a dynamic team of artists ready to take storm in this industry.”

Larsen Kennedy

“The Four Directions Apprentice Company appealed to me because of the diverse offering of concentrations. Not only is it unique in that it is a collaborative project that offers the chance to work with four theatres, it too is unique in that we apprentices get to work in a variety of fields. The commitment to diversity, community engagement, and producing quality work has been astounding. I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!”
