Artistic Director Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company are pleased to announce Dr. Meria Carstarphen of Atlanta Public Schools in Conversation with Monica Pearson as the second installment of True Colors’ 2016-2017 Community Conversations.
This conversation will center around the struggles that the Atlanta Public School District has faced in recent years and Dr. Carstarphen’s plans for the future. This conversation is presented as a prelude to our Southeastern premiere of Exit Strategy written by Ike Holter and directed by John Dillon. With our education system at the forefront of discussions in our community, Exit Strategy, a play about a failing urban school, is timely, relevant, and relatable.
The conversation will take place at Clark Atlanta University’s Davage Auditorium located in Haven-Warren Hall at 223 James P. Brawley Dr, Atlanta, GA 30314. Doors will open at 5:30 PM and the conversation will begin promptly at 6 PM. The dialogue will include an opportunity for Dr. Carstarphen to answer questions from the audience. All community conversations are Free and Open to the Public.
