In celebration of Black History Month, True Colors will proudly partner with Georgia Power to present “Greatness Abounds.” This True Talk panel conversation will focus on the ways that Atlanta-based Black creatives are using their expressive abilities to showcase non-monolithic Black stories, pushing back on the stereotypical ways that the Black community is often portrayed. The event will include special performances by some of True Colors’ favorite artists!

Audrey King
Senior Vice President of Region External Affairs
Georgia Power
Audrey King serves as senior vice president of Region External Affairs for Georgia Power. In this role, she is responsible for leading the company’s external activities across the state’s 11 regions by providing leadership and support to region executives, engaging in strategic planning and workforce initiatives, while building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
In her previous role, she served as the South Region Vice President for Georgia Power having direct responsibility for the company’s external activities for customers across a 62-county area that includes Savannah, Valdosta and Albany.
King has held various positions over more than 30 years in Customer Service, Sales, Distribution and External Affairs at the company. She began her career at Georgia Power as a customer service representative and has held other roles, including sales representative, auditor, support engineer, sales manager, external affairs manager, area manager and regional director.
King currently serves on the board of Savannah Economic Development Authority. Previously, she served on boards for the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Union Mission, Inc., Savannah Technical College, Georgia Southern University Housing Foundation, Savannah Rotary Club and the advisory board for BankSouth. She was a member of United Way Executive Board, Homebuilders Association, Valdosta North Rotary Club Past-President and Honorary Commander for Moody Air Force Base. King also served on the State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless and Department of Community Affairs.
King is a graduate of Leadership Lowndes, Leadership Savannah, and Leadership Georgia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Troy University.

Shanequa Gay
Visual Artist
Gay’s recent exhibitions include the European Cultural Centre Personal Structures-REFLECTION, 59th Venice Biennale, Venice, Italy, (2022); Atlanta Biennial, Atlanta Contemporary (2021); Le Monde Bossale, Montreal, Canada, in (2021); Adorned, McColl Center for Arts and Innovation, Charlotte (2020); and Holding Space for Nobility: A Memorial for Breonna Taylor, Ackland Museum, Chapel Hill North Carolina (2020).
Gay exhibits her works and procures residencies within the United States, Europe, Japan, and South Africa. She is a Do-Good Fellow recipient, an Emory University Arts and Social Justice Fellow, (2020) and a Hudgens Prize Finalist (2022). Currently, Gay is a visiting Professor at Spelman College, the Visual Artist-in-Residence at Oglethorpe University, 2022-23 and is one of five Georgia Women to Watch selected by the Georgia Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (2023).

Xavier Wilcher
Dancer, Choreographer, and Actor
Xavier “Professor X” Wilcher is one the most highly respected and requested entertainers in the business today. Xavier is very unique in the dance industry. His versatility in skill and technique makes him stand out in an industry full of talent. Xavier is well known for his signature hip hop style and his extensive training as a competition dancer in traditional genres of dance such as Tap, Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Contemporary.
He has worked with some of the most influential and sought after choreographers in the business, such people include, Fatima Robinson, Laurie Ann Gibson, Jamal Sims, Todd Sams, Flii Stylz, Aakomon Jones, Jamaica Craft, Sean Bankhead, Jaquel Knight, Dondraico Johnson, and many others. Xavier has also had the privilege to share the stage/screen with artist such as Sean Combs, Usher, Jason Derulo, Missy Elliott, Neyo, Ludacris, Black Eyed Peas, Flo-Rida, Tinashe, Kendrick Lamar, and Pharrell just to name a few. Most recently Xavier has had his focus on being on the big screen. Consistently training in Acting at the LS Studios in Atlanta, GA, directing and creating content for social media, and doing artist development. Xavier is on his way to becoming a household name. He has been blessed with the opportunities to work in front of and behind the camera as choreographer and dancer for several productions such Star on Fox Season 1-3, American Soul Season 1, Step Up: High Water Season 1, The Wiz Live, Stomp The Yard 1 & 2, Coming 2 America, Black Panther 2, Doom Patrol, The Game, And The Color Purple.
He also just made his acting debut as a lead in feature film “Be Careful What You Ask For” streaming on Tubi.

Milton Davis
Author and Publisher
Milton Davis is an award-winning Black Speculative fiction author and owner of MVmedia, LLC, a publishing company specializing in Science Fiction and Fantasy based on African/African Diaspora history, culture, and traditions. Milton is the author of thirty novels and short story collections and editor/coeditor of ten anthologies. His short stories and essays have appeared in several anthologies and magazines, most notably Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda, and Obsidian Literature and Arts in the African Diaspora. Milton was also nominated for the 2017 and 2020 British Science Fiction Association Award for Short Fiction His comic book collaboration with 133art, Changa and the Jade Obelisk, won the 2020 Glyph Comics Award for Best Story. He is a recipient of the 2022 East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention Pioneer Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jade Maia Lambert
Theatre Practitioner
Jade Maia Lambert is a theatre practitioner who is intentional about curating opportunities and increasing visibility for innovative creatives. She is a proud director-dramaturg, who previously served as the theatre director and troupe director at Tri-Cities High School, instructor of acting at Spelman College and as artistic associate, dramaturg, and teaching artist at the Alliance Theatre. She is the master motivator and arts advocate behind media company Lambert-Smith Media. Through the mission of LSM she currently manages an arts coaching and consulting firm, The Everyday Actor, that encourages creative visionaries to take consistent daily steps towards their dreams. Jade’s Living Authentically method of Artistry of LAMOA, is a groundbreaking training experience for the 21st century artist grounded in performative practices that encourage creatives to develop their authentic voice. She is also the founder of PG Entertainment, a family-focused production company committed to developing innovative and inspiring arts experiences for today’s modern family.

CC Sunchild
Composer, Orchestrator, Producer, Pianist, Vocalist, and Actress
CC Sunchild is an American composer, orchestrator, producer, pianist, vocalist, and actress. She has traveled the world working with renowned artists such as Patti Labelle, Sir Elton John, Bruce Hornsby, India Arie, Bobby McFerrin, Ruben Studdard, Lil Durk, Raphael Saadiq, Caron Wheeler, and a host of others. Recently, CC Sunchild has landed roles as a musician/singer in several major film productions such as Madea’s Witness Protection, The Detour, Hap and Leonard, Holidate, Star, and The Hate You Give. She also recently completed production as the pianist and piano hand double for the Fox/ National Geographic series Genius:Aretha starring Cynthia Erivo. CC Sunchild is known for her electrifying and soulful performances and innovative expression through music composition and improvisation. Her self-produced album “Air” can be found on all digital platforms worldwide.

Jovan Chronos
Percussive Musician
D. Jovan Taylor also known as Jovan Chronos, is an Atlanta based percussive musician. From age 7, this artist has set out to perfect the craft of rhythmic expression. With the goal to play any and every genre, Jovan has yet to back down from what he considers his destiny. His versatility and passion has driven him to develop a skill set which includes Congos, Djembe, Dundun, Orchestral Timpani, Bata, Quints, Drum Set and various others.
Jovan is a graduate of Atlanta Institute of Music & Media with a degree in Applied Science Music and Technology. He has given lessons and instruction on technique and the fundamentals of percussion instruments. When performing, Jovan emphasizes the unique sound each musical piece offers while offering his own style and enthusiasm.
His experience and talent afforded him the opportunity to play for Wake Forest University’s Gospel Choir (as a high school senior), The Phase Band (Old School, R&B), Lucky Pocket (Pop, Top 40), Crossing Avery (Country, Southern Rock), TIGER (Djent/Heavy Metal), his very own Grove Food (Neo Soul, Jazz and R&B) and many more!

Justen Ross
Actor, Playwright, Musician, Performance and Teaching Artist
Justen Ross is a black queer multi hyphenate performing and teaching artist from Atlanta, Georgia. Actor, playwright, and musician are few of many roles this ambitious soul takes on. He is the 2016 1st place winner of True Colors Theatre’s August Wilson Monologue Competition, a 2021 graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University’s BFA program, a 2021 Princess Grace Award recipient, and a Round 9 Reiser Lab Artist at The Alliance Theatre. The young talent also creates a variety of online content for a following of over 180,000+ and is known to create stories surrounding black queer resilience and ingenuity!

Dashill Smith
Trumpeter, Composer, Arranger, Vocalist, and Producer
Trumpeter, composer, arranger, vocalist, and producer Dashill Smith is excited to be a part of the production of “In The Pocket.” Dashill’s roots are in musical theater and he has served as musical director in several productions in his career; including “Free Mason.” An award winning show which was performed at the 2012 Oeřol Festival in the Netherlands.
Dashill has performed frequently with the legendary Roy Ayers. He has also shared stages Hugh Masakela, George Clinton, The Brand New Heavies, Outkast, Les Nubians, Dionne Farris, Roy Hargrove, Angie Stone, and Common. You can also see him performing regularly in Atlanta and elsewhere with variations of his own groups. Also with Mausiki Scales and the Common Ground Collective, Russell Gunn’s Royal Krunk Jazz Orchestra, and Kebbi Williams’ Wolf Pack. Currently, he is in a collaborative live project with Grammy award winning musician and iconic actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner called “The Jazz Of Tribe.”
