Why did you chose True Colors? “From the time that I was young through my first year of college, I actively searched for people who looked like me on TV and on the stage. When I did see people, they were often the “token” or played as a stereotype. As an artist, I’ve made it a goal to demonstrate and encourage honest portrayals of the Black/African American experience. Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company consistently delivers authentic work and is actively and accurately repainting the image of African American Domestic Realism, and I am sure it will continue to do so well into the future. I chose this company because I wanted to be a part of that. I hope to learn and hone the skills it takes to produce professional quality theatre.”
