Tony Award winning director, Kenny Leon, will host celebrity guests for a weekend of entertainment and golf to raise funds for True Colors Theatre Company’s signature arts program, the National August Wilson Monologue Competition.
Celebrating its 10th year, the August Wilson Monologue Competition is designed to help students of all backgrounds connect with a significant part of American history, explore African American culture and gain theatre and performance skills.
The festivities will begin the morning of Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Golf Club of Georgia. Golfing participants will join Kenny Leon and legendary actor, Samuel L. Jackson, as they compete for the coveted “Kenny Cup.” The day will include a continental breakfast, ladies golf clinic, a buffet lunch, raffle drawing and awards reception in the clubhouse.
On the evening of Saturday, May 20, 2017, celebrities, golfers and their guests will gather for an exclusive party that will include dinner, cocktails, a live auction and celebrity entertainment at Tony Conway’s Flourish in Atlanta.
