A touring gospel group formed by the four Davis Sisters struggle to make their way in the music industry – touring through the South in the era of the Jim Crow laws. On the road they begin to build a name for themselves and become one of the most respected performing groups in the Nation, but, in their struggle for success, family rivalries, secrets and resentments erupt along the way. Yet, in spite of all the tensions, disappointments and triumphs that they experience, they always find a way back to each other through the music that they sing.
