American songwriter, guitarist and recording artist, Sister Rosetta Tharpe embarks on a journey with young gospel singer, Marie Knight. Adding a little bit of sass to traditional gospel, this play with music sheds light on “invisible” black performers in the South and the legacies left behind.

November 30th – December 30th, 2021: Belatedly acknowledged as the Godmother of Rock ‘n Roll, Sister Rosetta Tharpe shattered every barrier that she faced as she made her mark on the music world. Marie and Rosetta chronicles her journey with young gospel singer Marie Knight, whom she recruited away from Mahalia Jackson.
In place of Raisin, a musical based on the play “Raisin In The Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, True Colors will present readings of three Raisin-related plays, “Younger” from February 18 to 20, “Beneatha's Place” from February 25 to 27 and “The Etiquette of Vigilance” from March 11 to 13.
June 14th – July 10th, 2022: Fannie Lou Hamer was the baby of her family, who were sharecroppers with 19 children before her. After working on plantations for most of her adult life, she joined the Civil Rights movement.
